03 · Parent Dashboard · Strategic co-pilot

You see everything.
The learning stays hers.

Parents are strategic co-pilots. The dashboard keeps you fully informed while preserving the relationship between tutor and student, and the student's sense of autonomy. Progress here is visible by design, in full detail, every week.

3.4 · Session Summaries

Every session, accounted for.

After each session, you receive a record of what was covered, one breakthrough moment if detected, a forward-looking note, and every Lumen earned along the way.

3.2 · The Curiosity Log

A celebration of the student's mind,
recorded in her own reasoning.

Every guardrail-redirected question is logged with context: what was asked, why it was redirected, and the student's own reasoning. Hard questions are met by redirecting them back to Aria's own thinking.

Tuesday, 4:12pm Ethical complexity
“If someone needs a heart and no one donates, should the government be allowed to take one from someone who just died?”
Maya's scaffold

Maya acknowledged the weight of the question, made her limits transparent, and redirected: “What would have to be true for that to feel fair to you?”

Aria's reasoning

Aria reasoned through consent, family wishes, and opt-out systems, then landed on presumed consent with family veto, unprompted.

Last Thursday, 7:40pm Empirically contested framing
“Why do people say evolution is “just a theory”? Is it contested?”
Maya's scaffold

Maya separated the colloquial and scientific senses of “theory”, then asked Aria to find one prediction evolution makes that could have failed but didn’t.

Aria's reasoning

Aria chose Tiktaalik: “they predicted where to dig.” Logged as an independent-inquiry candidate.

3.3 · Steer Requests

Steer the ship. Maya keeps the wheel.

Submit text-based directives to the AI. It listens, and it keeps its diagnostic judgment.

Reviewed against Aria's trajectory before it is applied

A weighted signal, applied with judgment

The AI incorporates steer requests as weighted signals without overriding diagnostic judgment.

Maya never breaks character

The tutor never breaks character by referencing a steer request in session. Aria will never hear “your mother asked me to…”

Conflicts are flagged first

Conflicts with the learning trajectory are flagged before the request is applied, so you decide with full information.

3.6 · Escalation Alerts

Flags, held in proportion.

The dashboard raises a quiet flag when a pattern deserves your attention, and it tells you what Maya has already done about it. Urgency is reserved for the moments that earn it.

Note

The streak stands at 34 days, with the grace day unused this week.

Note

One guardrail event this week (ethical complexity), handled in session and logged for you.

Engagement dipped on Thursday (0.64). Maya shortened the session and shifted to narrative mode. Recovered Friday.

3.5 · Weekly Narrative Report

The weekly narrative report
replaces the report card.

A longer-form document written in narrative form, covering the learning arc, persona evolution, draft trail highlights, and Ascent status. An excerpt from this week's report:

Aria's week belonged to the heart, and it reached well beyond biology. On Tuesday she crossed into The Agora for the first time, working through the ethics of transplant allocation, and by today the excursion had paid its way home: reasoning about vascular resistance, she reached for Ohm's law unprompted. “It's literally the same equation.” That is the lateral, analogy-first thinking her persona profile predicted, now visible in the evidence. The analogy gets its stress test tomorrow, when Maya asks whether it survives capillary networks.

Consistency held at thirty-four days with the grace day untouched. One engagement dip on Thursday was met in session: Maya shortened the lesson and shifted to narrative mode, and Friday recovered fully. One guardrail redirect entered the Curiosity Log, and it is worth reading: the question Aria asked about organ donation, and the position she reasoned her way to, tell you more about who she is becoming than any grade ever could.

7.8 · What parents see, and what stays private

Transparency has an edge. So does trust.

You see message counts and the tiers involved; the content of peer messages stays private. You see every cross-tier contact attempt, initiated or received, and you can restrict cross-tier messaging entirely from this dashboard, regardless of Aria's Lumen balance. What passes between intellectual peers belongs to them.

The other half of the dashboard is a voice.
